Maize Rotation Combined with Streptomyces rochei D74 to Eliminate Orobanche cumana Seed Bank in the Farmland

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Orobanche cumama wallr. is the sunflower root parasitic weed with special life stage in which seed germination and parasitism take place in the soil. In practice, applying microbial agents and trapping crop rotation are utilized separately, or just one of them is selected to control O. cumana.

Human otopathology in scleroderma

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 1657-1665, December 2023., 2023
Scleroderma is a complex chronic progressive immune‐mediated disease. To date, there is a lack of information about how middle and inner ear may be affected by this disorder. Herein we described three otopathology cases of patients with scleroderma onset during life.

The Prenucleation Equilibrium of the Parathyroid Hormone Determines the Critical Aggregation Concentration and Amyloid Fibril Nucleation

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 24, Issue 19, October 4, 2023., 2023
The functional amyloid fibril forming parathyroid hormone exhibits a prenucleation monomer‐oligomer equilibrium with concentration dependent cluster sizes. Here, the critical concentration for fibril formation is the minimum concentration of a trimer/tetramer which is furthermore involved in primary fibril nucleation.

Hardening corporate accountability in commodity supply chains under the European Union Deforestation Regulation

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 870-890, October 2023., 2023
Abstract The European Union (EU) has recently introduced the Deforestation Regulation to close regulatory gaps in the sustainability and legality of global forest and agricultural commodity supply chains. We analyze this regulatory policy change by drawing on accountability scholarship and institutionalist theories of regulation.

Bacterial extracellular vesicles: A position paper by the microbial vesicles task force of the Chinese society for extracellular vesicles

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, Volume 1, Issue 3, July 2023., 2023
Abstract Recently, the interest in extracellular vesicles released by bacteria has rapidly increased. Bacterial extracellular vesicles (BEVs) have been involved in bacteria‐bacteria and bacteria‐host interactions, which strengthen health or bring about various pathologies.

Development of a new multiplex quantitative PCR for the detection of Glaesserella parasuis, Mycoplasma hyorhinis, and Mycoplasma hyosynoviae

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 12, Issue 3, June 2023., 2023
The aim of the study was to develop a multiplex PCR for identification of Glaesserella parasuis and its virulence marker vtaA distinguishing between highly virulent and non‐virulent strains. Furthermore, Mycoplasma hyorhinis and Mycoplasma hyosynoviae can be identified targeting 16S rRNA.

Effective use of an extraoral vacuum in preventing the dispersal of particulate matter from metal dental materials

open access: yesJournal of Occupational Health, Volume 65, Issue 1, January/December 2023., 2023
Abstract Objectives When dentists adjust prostheses at the dental chairside, particulate matter (PM) from the dental material is dispersed. Little is known about the effective use of an extraoral vacuum (EOV) in preventing PM dispersal. This study aimed to evaluate the effective use of an EOV in preventing the dispersal of metal PM in dental offices ...

Comparative genomic and methylome analysis of non-virulent D74 and virulent Nagasaki Haemophilus parasuis isolates

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2018
Haemophilus parasuis is a respiratory pathogen of swine and the etiological agent of Glässer's disease. H. parasuis isolates can exhibit different virulence capabilities ranging from lethal systemic disease to subclinical carriage. To identify genomic differences between phenotypically distinct strains, we obtained the closed whole-genome sequence ...

The Actin‐Binding Prolyl‐Isomerase Par17 Sustains Its Substrate Selectivity by Interdomain Allostery

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The human peptidyl‐prolyl‐cis/trans isomerases (PPIases), Parvulin 14 and Parvulin 17, accelerate the cis/trans isomerization of Xaa‐Pro moieties within protein sequences. By modulating the respective binding interfaces of their target proteins, they play a crucial role in determining the fate of their substrates within the cell. Although both
