Scalar Field Equations from Quantum Gravity during Inflation
We exploit a previous computation of the self-mass-squared from quantum gravity to include quantum corrections to the scalar evolution equation. The plane wave mode functions are shown to receive no significant one loop corrections at late times.

Untangling Africa’s peace and growth trajectories: the role of property rights
The role of government in promoting property rights has been acknowledged in the literature. This study investigates the impact of property rights peace, and consequently the impact of peace and property rights on economic growth, utilizing the system ...

Limit to General Relativity in f(R) theories of gravity
We discuss two aspects of f(R) theories of gravity in metric formalism. We first study the reasons to introduce a scalar-tensor representation for these theories and the behavior of this representation in the limit to General Relativity, f(R)--> R.

Maya records of planetary conjunctions in Dresden Codex [PDF]
Old Mayas designed a very complicated calendar, and they also recorded important historical events and astronomical phenomena. Dresden Codex (DC), one of the four preserved Mayan hieroglyphic literal legacies, contains many of these, covering ...

Parton picture for the strongly coupled SYM plasma
Deep inelastic scattering off the strongly coupled N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills plasma at finite temperature can be computed within the AdS/CFT correspondence, with results which are suggestive of a parton picture for the plasma.

Space and population – competitiveness determinants of countries in the age of globalization
In the 21st century in a globalized world the level of competitiveness depends on numerous factors. This article concentrates deliberations on several of them, including space, population and international exchange.

Flavor Evolution of the Neutronization Neutrino Burst from an O-Ne-Mg Core-Collapse Supernova
We present results of 3-neutrino flavor evolution simulations for the neutronization burst from an O-Ne-Mg core-collapse supernova. We find that nonlinear neutrino self-coupling engineers a single spectral feature of stepwise conversion in the inverted ...

How much of the inflaton potential do we see?
We discuss the latest constraints on a Taylor-expanded scalar inflaton potential, obtained focusing on its observable part only. This is in contrast with other works in which an extrapolation of the potential is applied using the slow-roll hierarchy.

Two of the most influential sub-theories in the behavioral theory of the firm are the theories of the dominant coalition and problemistic search. We argue that the time is ripe for linking these two largely separately developed theories.
