Clinico-Epidemiologic Profile and Response to Levocetirizine in Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria: A Retrospective Cohort Study from a Tertiary Care Center in North India

open access: yesIndian Dermatology Online Journal
Background: Comprehensive long-term follow-up data regarding chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) among general populations, especially from the Indian subcontinent is scanty.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Investigating Vitamin D Status: A Key Factor in Gestational Diabetes among Pregnant Women

open access: yesKufa Journal for Nursing Sciences
Background: Vitamin D deficiency within the general population suggests the emergence of glucose intolerance. The relationship between insufficient vitamin D levels and gestational diabetes mellitus remains a subject of ongoing discussion ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Comparative study of three types of technology fee system for R&D performance under government R&D projects

open access: yesJournal of Intellectual Property
Prior to the enactment of the National Research And Development Innovation Act, there were no definitions of key terms related to national R&D, which made it difficult for the public, including researchers, to clearly understand national R&D.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

D. P. Juravskyi: the First Ukrainian Theorist of Statistical Science (in memory of the 160th anniversary of his death)

open access: yesСтатистика України, 2016
The contribution to the development of statistical science of the prominent Ukrainian theorist-statistician of the first half of XIX century Dmytro Petrovych (1810-1856) is discussed. It is emphasized that D.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.
