Blocking-Cap-Based DAB Converters

2018
Blocking-cap-based dual active bridge (DAB) converter with wide voltage conversion gain is studied in this chapter. The DC blocking capacitor, which is used for avoiding the DC flux bias in the transformer of conventional DAB converter, is utilized to achieve better performance under wide voltage gain range.

Paralleling of dab converter using the gyrator theory

2014 IEEE 5th International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG), 2014
This work presents mathematical analysis simulations and experimental results of the paralleling among DAB converters. The gyrator of technique was used to model the DAB converter and to determine a simple equivalent circuit. As the DAB converter is a natural gyrator, the paralleling is easy and the logic control is simplified.

A Novel Converter Integrating Buck-Boost and DAB Converter for Wide Input Voltage

IECON 2020 The 46th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2020
Dual active bridge (DAB) converters are widely used in new energy electric vehicles. However, the traditional DAB converter has limited soft-switching range and high circulating currents under wide input voltage especially when both-side voltages are mismatched. As a result, large power loss and low efficiency are undesirably obtained. In this paper, a

Paralleling of DAB converter using the gyrator theory

2013 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference, 2013
This work presents mathematical analysis, simulations and experimental results of the parallel connection of DAB converters. The gyrator technique is used to model the DAB converter and to determine a simple equivalent circuit. As the DAB converter is a natural gyrator, the paralleling can be easily done, and the control logic is simplified.

High-Efficiency DAB Converter Using Switching Sequences and Burst Mode

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2016
Dual active bridge converters enable bidirectional power flow in buck and boost operating modes. This paper presents an advanced switching sequence and burst-mode strategy to balance conduction, switching, and magnetic losses under light, medium, and heavy loading conditions, leading to improved operating efficiency. The implementation of the switching

Closed-Form Solution for Efficient ZVS Modulation of DAB Converters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2017
A directly employable closed-form analytical solution for the calculation of an efficient, full-operating-range zero voltage switching (ZVS) modulation scheme for bidirectional dual active bridge (DAB) dc–dc converters is presented. Contrary to the analytical ZVS modulation schemes previously proposed in literature, the amount of charge that is ...

Nonlinear characteristics of DAB converter and linearized control method

2018 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2018
By numerical analysis and simulations, the effectiveness of the reduced-order model developed by averaging the output current can be verified. And it is demonstrated that this model can be used to study the global dynamic properties of DAB converter at closed-loop operation.

Optimal design of circuit parameters of dab converter based on cascaded bidirectional converters

2014 International Power Electronics and Application Conference and Exposition, 2014
This paper addresses the optimal design of leakage inductance of the high-frequency transformer in dual active bidirectional converter stages of cascaded bidirectional converters. By the analyzing realization condition of zero-voltage-switching and the method to reduce reactive power under controlling of single phase shifting control strategy, the ...
