Influence of Lunar Phase on Daily Global Temperatures
Science, 1995A newly available data set of daily satellite-derived, lower-tropospheric global temperature anomalies provides an opportunity to assess the influence of lunar phase on planetary temperature. These results reveal a statistically significant 0.02 K modulation between new moon and full moon, with the warmest daily global temperatures over a synodic month

XI.—The Daily Temperature Curve
Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 1921(1) Outline of Investigation.—During the last half-century the temperature of the air has been recorded by thermographs at a number of places, and the registered graphs have been measured and mean daily temperature curves have been calculated from them for each month of the year. The amount of labour entailed in these operations is enormous, and it may

Statistical forecasting of daily temperatures
1977The behaviour of the daily minimum, mean and maximum temperatures was already found to be given by the sum of a deterministic function of the day and a stationary normal process with zero mean. Its standard deviations for the three temperatures observed in the period 1892-1974 are given.
