Ecology of Dalbergia sissoo

This chapter covers a detailed review of the Ecology of Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. ex DC. (Shisham). The genus Dalbergia comprises almost 100 to 300 species dispersed all over tropical and subtropical habitats. Out of which a few are lianas and shrubs, but most of them are trees.

Isoflavonoids of Dalbergia ecastophyllum

Abstract In addition to the known isoflavonoids formononetin and (±)-mucronulatol, the vine wood of Dalbergia ecastophyllum (L.) Taub. contains ( R )-8-demethylduartin. The assigned structure (II) has been confirmed by synthesis. Its absolute stereochemistry is deduced from examination of the CD spectrum of its acetate.

Neoflavanoids of Dalbergia cultrata

Abstract In addition to the known neoflavanoids (S)-4-methoxydalbergione, dalbergin, and stevenin, the heartwood of Dalbergia cultrata Grah. contains a new 3,3-diphenylprop-l-ene (Ia). The assigned structure is based on data acquired mainly by physical methods. The softwood of D. ferruginea Roxb. 1 yielded sitosterol and friedelin.
