TeV dark matter in the disk [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
DAMA annual modulation data and, CoGeNT, CDMS-II, EDELWEISS-II, CRESST excesses of events over the expected background are reanalyzed in terms of a dark matter particle signal considering the case of a rotating halo.

Assessing Spatiotemporal Side Effects of Diversionary Feeding on Mesopredators

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
We tested whether diversionary feeding alters the space use, aggregation, or activity patterns of mesopredators using a treatment‐control design with camera traps. Although both species frequently used feeding stations, diversionary feeding did not significantly affect their spatial distribution, aggregation, or temporal behaviour.

The Inert Doublet Model and Inelastic Dark Matter

open access: yes, 2009
The annual modulation observed by DAMA/NaI and DAMA/Libra may be interpreted in terms of elastic or inelastic scattering of dark matter particles. In this paper we confront these two scenarios within the framework of a very simple extension of the ...

Investigating Earth shadowing effect with DAMA/LIBRA-phase1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In the present paper the results obtained in the investigation of possible diurnal effects for low-energy single-hit scintillation events of DAMA/LIBRA-phase1 (1.04 ton $\times$ yr exposure) have been analysed in terms of an effect expected in case of ...

From DAMA/NaI to DAMA/LIBRA at LNGS [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal A, 2006
DAMA is an observatory for rare processes based on the development and use of various kinds of radiopure scintillators; it is operative deep underground at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory of the INFN. Several low background setups have been realized and many rare processes have been investigated.

Growth and Variation in Fallow Deer (Dama dama L.) From Two Contrasting Habitats in Southern Britain

open access: yesActa Zoologica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We have compiled a unique data set on the age, sex, body weight and dimensions of over 500 European fallow deer from two contrasting areas of habitat in southern England: a high‐density managed parkland population and a lower‐density feral woodland one.

Risk Factors and Reasons for Discharge Against Medical Advice for Newborns With Neonatal Surgical Diseases: A Preliminary Study From a Tertiary Care Hospital in Beijing, China

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2020
Background: To identify the risk factors and reasons for discharge against medical advice (DAMA) for newborns with neonatal surgical diseases in a tertiary care hospital in China. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on all newborn patients ...

Light neutralino in the MSSM: An update with the latest LHC results

open access: yes, 2012
We discuss the scenario of light neutralino dark matter in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, which is motivated by the results of some of the direct detection experiments --- DAMA, CoGENT, and CRESST.

Morphometric and Paleobiological Insights Into Pleistocene Sicilian Wolf Populations

open access: yesActa Zoologica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Pleistocene wolves (Canis lupus) from Sicily represent one of the few known insular populations of this species from that time period. Despite their potential relevance for understanding carnivore adaptations in insular contexts, no dedicated study has previously investigated their morphology and evolutionary significance.

Interpreting the recent results on direct search for dark matter particles in terms of relic neutralino

open access: yes, 2008
The most recent results from direct searches for dark matter particles in the galactic halo are examined in terms of an effective Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model at the electroweak scale without gaugino masses unification.
