ACCIDENTAL OIL SPILLS IN THE ARCTIC: AN ASSESSMENT OF POTENTIAL SOIL DAMAGE

open access: yesСевер и рынок: формирование экономического порядка
The intensification of economic activities by oil and gas companies in the Arctic has significantly increased the risk of environmental damage, necessitating compensation for potential harm caused by these businesses. A major risk factor in this context

M-FISH analysis shows that complex chromosome aberrations induced by α-particle tracks are cumulative products of localised rearrangements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Complex chromosome aberrations are characteristically induced after exposure to low doses of densely ionising radiation, but little is understood about their formation. To address this, we irradiated human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) in vitro with

Assessment of Damages – COVID-19

open access: yes, 2020
Forewords In the previous Paper, it was about the area of intelligence in disasters such as the Pandemic COVID-19. That Paper It is now complemented in just in the case or Intel did not worked and the disaster could not be avoided. Introduction An adverse event can be defined as the phenomenon that produces unfavourable changes in people, the economy ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

An Analytical Study on the Damage to School Buildings by the 2015 Nepal Earthquake and Damage Level-Based Reconstruction Experience

open access: yesBuildings
The 2015 Nepal Earthquake (Mw7.8) affected more than 9000 schools in the country. Damage distribution in the 14 most-affected administrative districts shows that the construction practices were an important determent for the level of damage extended. The

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
