Multiparameter MRI ISODATA characterizes ischemic damage [PDF]

open access: yesStroke, 2001
P23 Purpose: We present a tissue characterization method to identify viable and non-viable tissue in cerebral ischemia using multi-parameter MRI. The method utilizes T1, T2, proton density, and diffusion weighted images (T1WI, T2WI, PDWI, DWI, respectively).

Flood impact assessment in urban settings with porous buildings – insights from a fine-scale hydraulic-economic model [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences
Classical hydraulic approaches of urban floods consider buildings as obstructions to water flow, without considering the flow exchanges between streets and buildings.

The importance of proper evaluation of the geological conditions for the design of industrial floor subbase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Nowadays many problems concerning industrial floors or floors in shopping centres occurred when local geological characterization is not adequately considered by structural designers, material selection is not evaluated properly and in time for future ...

Unexplained cardiac arrest after near drowning in a young experienced swimmer: insight from cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI) is a well-established noninvasive imaging modality in clinical cardiology. Its ability to provide tissue characterization make it well suited for the study of patients with cardiac diseases.

THERMAL DAMAGE CHARACTERIZATION OF ENERGETIC MATERIALS

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2009
We conducted thermal damage experiments at 180° C on PBXN‐9 and characterized its material properties. Volume expansion at high temperatures was very significant which led to a reduction in material density. 2.6% of weight loss was observed, which was higher than other HMX‐based formulations.
