Damage Identification of Nonlinear Structural Systems
AIAA Journal, 2000The present investigation develops methods for the identie cation of highly localized structural damages in nonlinear structures. The damage is dee ned as either a reduction of stiffness or a change of restoring force characteristics from linear (undamaged state ) to weak nonlinear (damaged state ). One method for identifying both the location and type

Dynamic Characterization and Damage Identification
2011This chapter presents selected cases of modal parameter evaluation and damage identification, privileging the applied aspects. The identification of modal parameters is discussed through three experimental cases of masonry structures: a civil building, a monumental structure and a nineteenth century railway bridge.

Damage identification by wavelet analysis of modal rotation differences
, 2021In this paper, a novel damage identification approach based on differences in modal rotation fields obtained from shearographic measurements of structures and post-processed with the 2D continuous wavelet transform-based algorithm is presented.

Dynamic Response as a Tool for Damage Identification
International Applied Mechanics, 2004Summary: The change of dynamic characteristics is used to determine the magnitude and location of damage or other imperfections. The applied technique of change of surface curvature mode is compared with other methods. Examples of identification of real structures and models are considered.

System identification for damage detection in buildings
2018 15th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE), 2018An algorithm for damage detection in a multi-story building modeled by a wave equation with Kelvin damping is presented. Damage detection is achieved by relating stiffness loss with reduction in the shear wave velocity of the seismic induced motion propagation through the structure.

Identification of Sprout Damage in Oats
Cereal Chemistry, 2003ABSTRACTSprout damage of oats can occur when mature grain is left in the field after maturity and rainfall induces the germination process in the seeds. Although characteristics of sprout damage have been described thoroughly in many grains including wheat, rye, triticale, and barley, such characteristics have not been identified in oats.
