Stylus damage prevention index

open access: yes
Stylus methods for measuring surfaces have sometimes been blamed for causing damage to the surface because of the stylus pressure. This paper investigates this possibility and develops a 'potential damage index' which takes into account the instrument ...

Body shape index: an index for early target organ damage in hypertension

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Translational Research
To investigate the relationship between obesity-related indices and target organ damage in hypertension, with the goal of improving damage prevention and treatment strategies. This retrospective study included 150 hypertension cases from January 2022 to December 2023 treated at Beijing Ditan Hospital, including 72 cases of isolated hypertension, 48 with

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Damage detection in composite cylindrical panels based on forced vibration

open access: yes, 2013
The current work is devoted to the problem of the damage detecting inside the composite cylindrical panels. The applied method is based on the analysis of the forced vibration and corresponding mode shapes of the structure.
