Research on Stiffness Damage of Simply Supported Beam after Fire

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
First, a fire test on concrete beams was carried out. Then after the static test of simply supported beam, the phenomena of simply supported beamsbefore and after fire were compared in order to determine the damage degree ofmechanical property. Finally, the width reduction method was proposed tocalculate the stiffness of beam after fire.

Research on Curvature Mode Characteristics of Damaged Simply Supported Beam

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
This paper approaches the rules of curvature mode and curvature mode difference about a simply supported beam. On the basis of the theory of curvature mode, through numerical simulation analysis of simply supported beam on four conditions, the result of simply supported beam with curvature mode and curvature mode difference were obtained.

Damage Detection for Simply Supported Beams Using Mid-Span Displacement Indicator

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2010
This paper investigates the detection of damage for simply supported beams to ensure their safety. Based on the analysis of possible kinds of damage may occur, this paper presents a new approach which relies on the fact that any change in local stiffness caused by damage can be reflected by the change of mid-span displacement between the intact and ...

Damage Identification Method of Simply Supported Beam Bridge with Multiple Girders

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Considering the complexity of the simply supported beam with multiple girders, a two-step damage identification algorithm for this kind of bridge is presented. This algorithm first locates the damage by means of curvature of flexibility change, and then utilizes the PSO-SVM algorithm to identify the damage extent.

Changes of modal properties of simply-supported plane beams due to damages

Interaction and multiscale mechanics, 2009
Damage detection methods using structural dynamic responses have received much attention in the past decades. For bridge and offshore structures, these methods are usually based on beam models. To ensure the successful application of these methods, it is necessary to examine the sensitivity of modal properties to structural damages.
