Influence of Shock Absorber on Electric Axle Vibration in Semi-Trailer

open access: yesJournal of Machine Engineering
This article describes the results of a study of the effect of a shock absorber on the vibration of an electric axle in a semi-trailer. The dynamic characteristics of three shock absorbers from different manufacturers were determined.

Enhancing the Viscoelastic Performance of Carbon Fiber Composites by Incorporating CNTs and ZnO Nanofillers

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Carbon fiber reinforced plastic composites (CFRPs) possess superior elastic mechanical properties. However, CFRPs lack sufficient viscoelastic performance, such as damping and creep resistance.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Vibration control of an overhead crane by elimination of the natural frequency component (Application to the system with uncertainty in natural frequency)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2018
The aim of this study is to develop a systematic method to suppress residual vibration in overhead cranes that lowers operating performance and prevents automation of the system.

Determination of spin Hall effect and spin diffusion length of Pt from self-consistent fitting of damping enhancement and inverse spin-orbit torque measurements

open access: yes, 2018
Understanding the evolution of spin-orbit torque (SOT) with increasing heavy-metal thickness in ferromagnet/normal metal (FM/NM) bilayers is critical for the development of magnetic memory based on SOT.

Chiral SURMOFs for Vibrational Circular Dichroism: Multiscale Modeling and Experimental Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The use of solid‐state vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) for MOFs is still somewhat unexplored, and in this work, it is shown that chiral surface‐anchored MOFs (SURMOFs) grown on CaF2 provide an excellent platform for VCD. Experimental results are validated through multiscale modeling, showing strong agreement across multiple spectroscopic ...

The Dynamic Characteristics of Railway Portal Frame Bridges: A Comparison between Measurements and Calculations

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Railway bridges are subjected to significant dynamic loads. A numerical model of the bridge structure that captures its dynamic characteristics as accurately as possible is essential for the simulation of train crossings.
