Superelastic behavior and damping capacity of CuAlBe alloys

open access: yesMaterials Science and Engineering: A, 2006
Abstract Shape memory alloys (SMAs) showing the superelastic effect, dissipate energy through hysteretic cycles up to large strain amplitudes, without remnant strains after unloading. This effect is associated with a reversible stress-induced martensitic transformation.

Integrated Field‐Free SOT Domain‐Wall Synapses and MTJ Stochastic Neurons for Hardware Boltzmann Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐free spin‐orbit torque domain‐wall synapses integrated with stochastic MTJ neurons enable compact hardware Boltzmann machines. Leveraging intrinsic stochasticity and multi‐level conductance, the system achieves efficient probabilistic learning with high accuracy, demonstrating a scalable spintronic platform for energy‐efficient edge AI.

Design, manufacture, and characterisation of hierarchical metamaterials for simultaneous ultra-broadband sound-absorbing and superior mechanical performance

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping, 2023
For engineering applications, sound-absorbing materials are supposed to withstand potential impact loading conditions. However, there is a lack of attempts on multifunctional metamaterials for both acoustic and mechanical purposes. Herein, a hierarchical

High‐Index, Low‐Loss Optical Material Platforms for Ultra‐Broadband Ultraviolet‐to‐Visible Achromatic Metalenses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An integrated material platform combining engineered SiNx thin films and printable ZrO2 nanoparticle‐embedded resin enables broadband achromatic metalenses from the ultraviolet to visible range. The demonstrated meta‐optics achieve near‐diffraction‐limited focusing with minimal chromatic aberration.

Detecting positive quantum capacities of quantum channels

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information, 2022
Determining whether a noisy quantum channel can be used to reliably transmit quantum information is a challenging problem in quantum information theory. This is because it requires computation of the channel’s coherent information for an unbounded number

The Effects of Static Strain on the Damping Capacity of High Damping Alloys

open access: yesMATERIALS TRANSACTIONS, 2002
Influences of static strain on the damping capacity in Mn-based M2052 and Fe-6Al alloys were studied with the forced flexural oscillation method by using a dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA). The static surface strain was applied on the 3-point bending specimens in the range of 1.0 x 10 -5 -2.0 x 10 -4 .

Ultrasensitive Anti‐Stokes Luminescence Thermometry in Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Monolayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a highly sensitive nanothermometer using anti‐Stokes photoluminescence, also known as photoluminescence upconversion (UPL), in monolayer tungsten disulfide. A strong resonantly enhanced UPL is observed, confirming the central role of optical phonons in the PL upconversion mechanism.

Hybrid Nd-Fe-B/barium ferrite magnetic materials with epoxy matrix [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2012
Lately a great attention has been paid to the research of bonded hybrid composites with improved dynamic mechanical capacities capable of replacing bonded Nd-Fe-B magnetic materials, by using the cheaper (ferrite) materials instead of the Nd-Fe-B ...

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

The Small-Signal Stability of Offshore Wind Power Transmission Inspired by Particle Swarm Optimization

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
Voltage source converter-high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) is the mainstream technology of the offshore wind power transmission, which has been rapidly developed in recent years. The small-signal stability problem is closely related to offshore wind
