キウイフルーツの立枯れは,梅雨の後半から初夏にかけて発生する。樹の生育は,発芽から新梢伸長と順調に発育していたものが,急に葉が萎凋して樹全体が枯死する。このような樹は,ほとんど根腐れを起こしており根冠も表皮が腐って容易に削げおちる。熊本県では,1982年頃から発生が認められているが,発生園は水田転換や湿潤な窪地で多い。通常10%以内の発生株率であるが,多いところでは30%以上のところもある。立枯れが発生すると欠株を生ずることから,直接収益に影響する。原因究明のため,ヘイワード苗を鉢植して耐水試験を行ったところ,尺鉢の1/3湛水ではほとんどが健全であったのに対し,尺鉢全体を湛水すると100%が枯死した。処理後5~7日で葉の萎凋がはじまり,13~15日で葉の褐変,落葉が見られた ...
