Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Peripheral Neutrophil Activation and Extracellular Trap Formation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Markers of neutrophil activation are increased in plasma during ALS, and markers of NET formation associate with ALS survival. ABSTRACT Objectives Peripheral neutrophil levels in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) inversely correlate with survival, suggesting a role for neutrophils in disease progression.

Vibrational damping behaviors of graphene nanoplatelets reinforced NR/EPDM nanocomposites
Vibrational damping behaviors of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) reinforced natural rubber/ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (NR/EPDM) were investigated. The nanocomposites were prepared through melt compounding using a Haake internal mixer.

Understanding friction induced damping in bolted assemblies through explicit transient simulation [PDF]
The design of joints is seeing increased interest as one of the ways of controlling damping levels in lighter and more flexible aeronautic structures. Damping induced by joint dissipation has been studied for more than a decade, mostly experimentally due ...

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Dissipation mechanisms identification of soft hollow particle-dampers in honeycomb structures for micro-vibrations environment [PDF]
Particle dampers are enclosures partially filled with metallic or glass small spheres, attached to the vibrating structure. This paper deals with replacing hard classical particles by soft hollow ones to maximize damping and mass ratio. Hence, one aspect
