Influence of dewetting on the damping properties of a filled polymer system: 2. Damping properties
Polymer, 1980Abstract Following characterization of the processes observed by adding an inert filler into an elastomer, hysteresis and wave-propagation meaurements were carried out which indicate that dewetting is the main factor that causes an increase in the damping, and is responsible for the softening effect observed in PBCT filled with spherical Al powder ...

Phase properties of a damped anharmonic oscillator
Physical Review A, 1991Phase properties of a damped anharmonic oscillator are studied within the Hermitian phase formalism of Pegg and Barnett. Exact analytical formulas for the phase distribution function, the expectation value and variance of the phase operator, and the expectation value and variance of the cosine of the phase operator are obtained assuming the zero ...

Damped Properties and Noether Symmetries of Damped Free Vibration
Practice Periodical on Structural Design and Construction, 2010This paper focuses on studying the damped properties of damped free vibration for single-degree-of-freedom system by using the Noether symmetries. Based on the Noether theorem, the damping coefficient and amplitude of the damped free vibration system were derived.

Magnetomechanical damping and physical properties of damping iron alloys
Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1998The relationship of the magnetomechanical damping to the magnetic properties and electrical resistance of damping iron alloys is investigated. The dependence of the magnetomechanical damping and the squared frequency of mechanical vibrations of the strength of the variable magnetic field is analyzed.

On the Damping Properties of the Shoulder Complex
Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1984Effectiveness of the multi-segmented total-human-body models to predict accurately live human response depends heavily on the task of proper biomechanical description and simulation of the articulating joints. Determination of the damping properties in articulating joints is an important part of this task and constitutes the subject of this paper.

Characterization of the Damping Properties of High-Damping Alloys
2009Techniques and strategies to characterize the damping properties of high-damping metals from two of the major classes of damping mechanisms are described. Two types of high-damping metals were chosen for the study: a series of die cast zinc-aluminum alloys that exhibit predominantly amplitude-independent, thermally activated damping mechanisms and a ...

Damping properties of buildings in Japan
Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 1996Abstract Full-scale data on the dynamic properties of buildings in Japan have been collected and analyzed. The data on 123 steel structure buildings and 66 reinforced concrete structure buildings have been collected on a data base. Almost all data base were evaluated from measurements at a low vibration amplitude.
