Millifluidic Synthesis of Core–Shell Resonators For Tunable Sonic BandGaps in Acoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Millimeter‐scale core–shell acoustic resonators are fabricated by a gravity‐assisted dripping approach and incorporated into epoxy composites at controlled volume fractions. The resulting alumina–core resonator composites show tunable low‐frequency acoustic attenuation, demonstrating a scalable route for integrating locally resonant metamaterial units ...

Variational approach for the n-dimensional stationary Navier-Stokes equations with a damping term

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations
We study the \(n\)-dimensional stationary Navier-Stokes equations with a damping term by developing a new general minimax principle. This principle is sufficiently broad to be applied in various contexts, and here it is used to establish the existence ...

Homogenization of systems with unsymmetric damping

open access: yes, 1998
This paper considers the homogenization of a system in which the damping term involves derivatives of the same order as the stiffness term but without the assumption of previous studies that the damping is ...

Toward Perception‐Native Electronic Skin: Bio‐Inspired In‐/Near‐Sensor and Neuromorphic Computing for Humanoid Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...

Experimental Investigation of Roll Damping Characteristics for the DTC Container Ship Through Large-Amplitude Free Roll Decay Tests

open access: yes한국해양공학회지
A reliable assessment of large-amplitude roll phenomena such as parametric roll requires an accurate characterization of roll damping. In this study, free roll decay model tests were conducted on the Duisburg test case container ship at large initial ...

Low‐Outgassing Liquid Metal–Silicone Composites for Multifunctional Space Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Integrating liquid metal microdroplets into a space‐grade silicone creates a multifunctional composite while preserving its inherent flexibility and low‐outgassing behavior. The composite has 11×$\times$ higher thermal conductivity while remaining thermally stable and maintaining a total mass loss of ≤$\le$ 1% under thermal vacuum testing.

Helicity‐Dependent All‐Optical Switching in Bi,Ga‐Substituted Rare‐Earth Iron Garnet Films Driven by Orbital Magnetic Moment

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Helicity‐dependent all‐optical magnetization switching was demonstrated for the Bi‐ and Ga‐substituted rare‐earth (R) iron garnet crystal thin films (Bi,Ga:RIG; R = Eu3+, Nd3+, and Y3+). The efficiency followed the order EIG > NIG > YIG. These results show the correlation between 4f orbital moment (4f〈L〉) of R3+ and helicity‐dependent optical ...

Unboundedness of Solutions of Duffing Equations with Damping Term

open access: yesPure Mathematics, 2016
在比较容易验证的条件下,本文证明了带有阻尼项的Duffing方程xn+cx,+h(x)=p(t)和xn+cx,=p(t)h(x)的所有解都是无界的。 In this article, we prove the unboundedness of solutions for the Duffing equations with damping term xn+cx,+h(x)=p(t) and xn+cx,=p(t)h(x) under some easier testing conditions.

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...
