Recovery of Edwardsiella ictaluri from danio (Danio devario)
Aquaculture, 1985Abstract A disease outbreak in the danio ( Danio devario ) resulted in the isolation of Edwardsiella ictaluri as the etiologic agent. This isolate was compared with typical E. ictaluri and found to give identical reactions. It was also pathogenic for channel catfish. This is the second isolation of E. ictaluri from non-ictalurid fish.

The complete mitochondrial genome of dwarf danio, Danio nigrofasciatus
Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2015In this study, we report the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of dwarf danio, Danio nigrofasciatus, for the first time. The genome is found to be 16 616 bp in length and has a base composition of A (31.97%), G (15.88%), C (23.99%), and T (28.16%), indicating that the percentage of A + T (60.13%) was higher than G + C (39.87%).

Evolution of danio pigment pattern development [PDF]
Pigment patterns of danio fishes are emerging as a useful system for studying the evolution of developmental mechanisms underlying adult form. Different closely related species within the genera Danio and Devario exhibit a range of pigment patterns including horizontal stripes, vertical bars, and others.

Susceptibility of Transgenic and Wildtype Zebra Danios, Danio rerio, to Predation
Environmental Biology of Fishes, 2006The effects to ecosystems by genetically modified organisms are still unknown, yet a transgenic version (the red glofish or red fluorescent protein (RFP) transgenic zebra danio) of the zebra danio, Danio rerio, a common aquarium fish, has become the first transgenic pet sold in the USA. It has been hypothesized that RFP zebra danios will not persist in

Myelopoiesis in the zebrafish, Danio rerio
Blood, 2001AbstractGenome-wide chemical mutagenesis screens in the zebrafish(Danio rerio) have led to the identification of novel genes affecting vertebrate erythropoiesis. In determining if this approach could also be used to clarify the molecular genetics of myelopoiesis, it was found that the developmental hierarchy of myeloid precursors in the zebrafish ...

Lampbrush chromosomes of Danio rerio
Chromosome ResearchDanio rerio, commonly known as zebrafish, is an established model organism for the developmental and cell biology studies. Although significant progress has been made in the analysis of the D. rerio genome, cytogenetic studies face challenges due to the unclear identification of chromosomes.

Liver development in zebrafish (Danio rerio)
Journal of Genetics and Genomics, 2009Liver is one of the largest internal organs in the body and its importance for metabolism, detoxification and homeostasis has been well established. In this review, we summarized recent progresses in studying liver initiation and development during embryogenesis using zebrafish as a model system. We mainly focused on topics related to the specification
