Aims Head‐to‐head comparisons among SGLT2 inhibitors treatments in established heart failure remain absent. We conducted a systematic review of dedicated heart failure trials to assess indirectly the composite outcomes and individual clinical endpoints ...

Abstract Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is characterized by a lack of a specific targeted treatment and a complex, partially unexplored pathophysiology. Common comorbidities associated with HFpEF are hypertension, atrial fibrillation, obesity and diabetes.

IMPACT OF DAPAGLIFLOZIN ON APOPTOSIS AND EFFECTOR CYTOTOXIC CELLS USING BREAST CANCER CELLS IN MICE [PDF]
Background: Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and apoptosis modulator activity.

Background Recent studies have reported improved diastolic function in patients administered sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i). We aimed to investigate the effect of dapagliflozin on left ventricular (LV) diastolic function in a diabetic

Cardiac remodelling in the era of the recommended four pillars heart failure medical therapy
Abstract Cardiac remodelling is a key determinant of worse cardiovascular outcome in patients with heart failure (HF) and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). It affects both the left ventricle (LV) structure and function as well as the left atrium (LA) and the right ventricle (RV).

Introduction: Although dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, delays the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD), its effect on patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) has not been established ...

The effects of sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors on the ‘forgotten’ right ventricle
Abstract With the progress in diagnosis, treatment and imaging techniques, there is a growing recognition that impaired right ventricular (RV) function profoundly affects the prognosis of patients with heart failure (HF), irrespective of their left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).

Implementation of guideline‐recommended medical therapy for patients with heart failure in Europe
Abstract Physicians' adherence to guideline‐recommended heart failure (HF) treatment remains suboptimal, especially regarding the target doses. In particular, there is evidence that non‐cardiologists are less compliant with HF guideline recommendations. This is likely to have a detrimental impact on patients' survival, readmissions and quality of life.

Abstract Aims The VICTORIA trial demonstrated a significant reduction in the primary composite outcome of heart failure (HF) hospitalization or cardiovascular death with vericiguat relative to placebo in high‐risk HF. This study aimed to contextualize treatment effects of vericiguat in populations with varying risk profiles simulated from the PARADIGM ...

Effect of dapagliflozin on proteomics and metabolomics of serum from patients with type 2 diabetes
Background Sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors reduced the risk of cardiovascular and renal outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D), but the underlying mechanism has not been well elucidated.
