Multiphysics Coupled Response of Stress and Seepage in Coal Under Borehole Disturbance and Optimization of Borehole Parameters

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
One‐way FLAC3D‐COMSOL coupled modeling and field validation show that a 150 mm borehole radius with 5 m spacing provides the best coordination of plastic‐zone expansion, stress relief, permeability enhancement, and gas‐pressure attenuation, increasing the pure gas drainage rate by 35.4%. ABSTRACT To rationally determine the borehole radius and borehole

Chemistry Underlying the Behavior of Food and Agricultural Components During Industrial Manufacturing Processes and Its Implications in Quality Assurance, Food Quality, and Food Safety Management: A Systematic Review

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Industrial manufacturing processes have transformative effects on the components of food matrix. These transformations in food matrix and components have direct implications for quality assurance (QA), food quality (e.g., nutritional profile and texture), and food safety management (e.g., pathogen control and toxin mitigation). ABSTRACT This systematic

A Coupled AquaCrop–Richards Model for Improved Crop Yield Prediction Through Physically Based Soil Water Dynamics

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Crop modelling is essential for agricultural water management but often relies on simplified water balance routines that limit representation of soil moisture dynamics. To address this limitation, we developed a coupled model that integrates the 1‐D Richards equation, solved using a finite difference method into the FAO AquaCrop.

Integrating X‐Ray Computed Tomography and Hydraulic Properties for Soil Quality Assessment Under Soil Compaction

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil compaction poses a significant threat to soil quality and sustainability, necessitating advanced assessment methods. We hypothesized that incorporating x‐ray computed tomography (XCT)‐derived pore characteristics with hydraulic properties would significantly enhance the development of a soil quality index (SQI) under soil compaction ...

Non-linear filtration models and the effect of nonlinearity parameters on flow rates in low-permeability reservoirs

open access: yesGeoresursy
Filtration of oil in low-permeable reservoirs is considered. The experimental data of dependence of filtration velocity on pressure gradient are analysed.

Flow of micropolar fluid over an off centered rotating disk with modified Darcy's law

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2017
The problem of the steady, incompressible, three dimensional stagnation point flow of a micropolar fluid over an off centered infinite rotating disk in a porous medium is studied in this article.

Moisture Absorption in Highly Porous Closed‐Cell Polymeric Foams

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
The conventional one‐dimensional hindered diffusion model has been extended into a new Void Filling Hindered Diffusion Model. By quantifying the moisture stored within closed‐cell pores, this model successfully captures the distinct absorption behaviors observed across varying foam thicknesses.

Rechargeable N‐Halamine Functionalized Ultra‐Thin PES Ultrafiltration Membranes

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
An automated 3D printer‐assisted casting platform is utilized to fabricate ultra‐thin polyethersulfone membranes with precise structural control. The integration of a custom‐synthesized, regenerable N‐halamine homopolymer imparts superior, cyclic antifouling resistance and rapid, broad‐spectrum antibacterial efficacy.

Critical review on challenges in the application of Darcy’s law for multi-phase fluid flow in petroleum reservoirs

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
The physical description of the transient flow of multi-phase compressible fluid through a petroleum formation should ideally be built on conservation principles of mass and momentum.

Fundamental Hydraulic Geometry Relations as an Accessible Tool for Identifying Channel Instability Over National Scales

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The geometry of alluvial river channels can give insight into their stability, which can inform predictions of morphological change, flood risk and ecological degradation. Fundamental hydraulic geometry relations can be used to estimate the equilibrium dimensions of stable river channels by evaluating the balance between the erodibility of bed
