A Fusion-Based Defogging Algorithm

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
To solve the problem that traditional dark channel is not suitable for a large sky area and can easyily distort defogged images, we propose a novel fusion-based defogging algorithm.

Multi-channel SNSPD system with high detection efficiency at telecommunication wavelength

open access: yes, 2010
We developed a four-channel superconducting nanowire single-photon detector system based on a Gifford-McMahon cryocooler. All channels showed a system detection efficiency (at a 100 Hz dark-count rate) higher than 16% at 1550 nm wavelength, and the best ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

A remote‐sensing image enhancement algorithm based on patch‐wise dark channel prior and histogram equalisation with colour correction

open access: yesIET Image Processing, 2021
The object identification within an image captured during rough weather conditions (such as haze, fog) poses difficulty due to the reduction of an image. The rough weather conditions lead not only to the variation of the image's visual effect but also to

Weak Corrections are Relevant for Dark Matter Indirect Detection

open access: yes, 2010
The computation of the energy spectra of Standard Model particles originated from the annihilation/decay of dark matter particles is of primary importance in indirect searches of dark matter.

Characterization of Hamamatsu 64-channel TSV SiPMs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Hamamatsu UV-light enhanced 64-channel SiPM array of the newest generation (S13361-3050AS-08) has been examined for the purpose of being used for the Silicon Elementary Cell Add-on (SiECA) of the EUSO-SPB balloon experiment.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Signatures of top flavour-changing dark matter

open access: yes, 2015
We develop the phenomenology of scenarios in which a dark matter candidate interacts with a top quark through flavour-changing couplings, employing a simplified dark matter model with an s-channel vector-like mediator.

Low-Temperature Enhancement of Semi-annihilation and the AMS-02 Positron Anomaly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Semi-annihilation is a generic feature of particle dark matter that is most easily probed by cosmic ray experiments. We explore models where the semi-annihilation cross section is enhanced at late times and low temperatures by the presence of an s ...
