The Multiple Sclerosis Severity Allele rs10191329A and Cognitive Function: A UK Biobank Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The genome‐wide association study of Multiple Sclerosis severity linked the genetic variant rs10191329A to long‐term disability and implicated brain resilience as a determinant of outcome. We hypothesised that rs10191329A might influence cognition in other neurological diseases and healthy controls.

Characterization and Modeling of Nonlinear Dark Current in Digital Imagers

open access: yes, 2014
Dark current is an unwanted source of noise in images produced by digital imagers, the de facto standard of imaging. The two most common types of digital imager architectures, Charged-Coupled Devices (CCDs) and Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor ...

A model for dark current characterization and simulation

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2006
The Poisson and Normal probability distributions poorly match the dark current histogram of a typical image sensor. The histogram has only positive values, and is positively skewed (with a long tail). The Normal distribution is symmetric (and possesses negative values), while the Poisson distribution is discrete.

Prevalence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in Australia, 2010–2022: A Population‐Based Study Using Linked National Administrative Health Data

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a heterogenous inflammatory condition with widely varying global prevalence estimates. The frequency of SLE in the general population of Australia has been reported to be notably lower than contemporary estimates in countries such as the United States or United Kingdom, at 19 to 39 per 100,000 as opposed ...

Biopsychosocial Determinants of Hand Function and Its Trajectories Over Five Years in Patients With Hand Osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to investigate hand function trajectories over five years in primary hand osteoarthritis (OA). Additionally, determinants of baseline and longitudinal hand function were assessed. Methods A total of 538 patients with both baseline and five‐year study visits were analyzed.
