In Situ Profiling of Nanoscale Strains Uncovers Mechano‐Architectural Predictors of Aging and Osteoarthritis Emergence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In situ mechanical loading of osteoarthritis‐prone murine knee joints reveals that spatial alterations in subchondral plate microarchitecture precede cartilage loss and promote a shift from coordinated epiphyseal strain dissipation in healthy joints to focal subchondral strain concentration in osteoarthritis‐prone joints.

USP5 Stabilizes TGFBR1 to Drive Vascular Smooth Muscle Cell Senescence and Atherosclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that USP5 drives vascular smooth muscle cell senescence and atherosclerosis by stabilizing TGFBR1, suppressing IDH2, and promoting glycolytic reprogramming, identifying the USP5‐TGFBR1‐IDH2 axis as a potential therapeutic target. ABSTRACT Vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) senescence contributes importantly to atherosclerotic plaque ...

DASH diet and prevalent metabolic syndrome in the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos

open access: yesPreventive Medicine Reports, 2019
The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet is recommended for lowering blood pressure and preventing cardiovascular disease (CVD), but little data exist on these associations in US Hispanics/Latinos.

Adherence to the dietary approaches to stop hypertension (DASH) diet in relation to all-cause and cause-specific mortality: a systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies

open access: yesNutrition Journal, 2020
Background Although previous investigations have proposed an association between Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH)-style diet and lower mortality from chronic diseases, the exposure-response relationship is not clear.

Engineering Morphological Anisotropy to Control the In Vivo Transport Dynamics, Clearance, and Biodistribution of Silica Nanocarriers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Morphological anisotropy directs the in vivo transport under physiological flow and clearance of silica nanocarriers. Increasing anisotropy reduces cellular uptake, suppresses hepatic and splenic sequestration, and prolongs systemic circulation by steering particles toward the central flow core.

Personalized Meal Plans as An Intervention to Enhance Dash Diet Adherence in Hypertensive Adults [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet is more effective as a standalone treatment at lowering blood pressure than any pharmaceutical intervention alone, but adherence is poor and current interventions to improve adherence only show ...

Senkyunolide I Inhibits mtDNA‐cGAS‐STING Signaling in Macrophages via Targeting VDAC1 Oligomerization to Attenuate Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In macrophages, senkyunolide I (SEI) directly targets the K12 residue of VDAC1 to inhibit its stress‐induced oligomerization, a critical upstream event that effectively prevents mitochondrial DNA release and subsequent cGAS‐STING pathway activation.

Dietary approaches to stop hypertension diet and obesity: A cross-sectional study of Iranian children and adolescents

open access: yesARYA Atherosclerosis, 2017
BACKGROUND: Few studies have investigated the effects of dietary approaches to stop hypertension (DASH) diet on obesity in children. The present study was conducted to examine adherence to the DASH diet in relation to obesity in children and adolescents,
