"The heterogeneous classrooms of today require teachers to differentiate effectively. Effective differentiation however is a very time-consuming process. Teachers are faced with the challenge of first identifying the students in need of differentiated content, be it in the form of more support and easier exercises for struggling students or more ...

The data-driven microprocessor
IEEE Micro, 1989Processor performance limitations that can be solved by data-flow processing are discussed. Data-flow-based software and multiprocessors are considered. A data-driven, 32-bit, five-chip set that performs real-time signal and distributed parallel processing without a system clock or centralized control unit is presented.

Given a contact network and coarse-grained diagnostic information like electronic Healthcare Reimbursement Claims (eHRC) data, can we develop efficient intervention policies to control an epidemic? Immunization is an important problem in multiple areas especially epidemiology and public health.

This thesis introduces a new framework for data-driven grasping. We assume, with neuropsychological justification, that human grasping is fundamentally example based rather than rule based. This means that planning grasps for a novel object will usually reduce to identifying it as similar to known objects with known grasp affordances.

Gene networks are important tools in studying gene-gene relationships and gene function. Understanding the relationships within these networks is an important challenge. Ontologies are a critical tool in helping deal with these data. The use of the Gene Ontology, for example, has become routine in methods for validation, discovery, etc. Here we present
