Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Heuristic genetic algorithm of computational pipelines optimization

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники, 2019
An analysis of computational pipelines and their optimization methods has been performed. A class of dataflow pipelines that do not use resource sharing and obtain high throughput has been considered.

Improved WOA-DBSCAN Online Clustering Algorithm for Radar Signal Data Streams

open access: yesSensors
For the pulsed data streams emitted by multiple signal sources that generate aliasing, traditional density clustering algorithms have the problems of poor clustering effect, heavy reliance on manual experience to set the parameters, and the need to carry

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Flow in data racks

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
This paper deals with the flow in data racks. The aim of this work is to find a new arrangement of elements regulating the flow in the data rack so that the aerodynamic losses and the recirculation zones were minimized.

Publishing flow cytometry data

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physiology-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology, 2010
Cellular measurements by flow cytometric analysis constitute an important step toward understanding individual attributes within a population of cells. Assessing individual cells within a population by protein expression using fluorescently labeled antibodies and other fluorescent probes can identify cellular patterns.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
