Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Ten meter walk test with mobile devices: A dataset with accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope

open access: yesData in Brief
This paper presents a dataset related to the performance of the Ten Meter Walking Test, a test to allow locomotor capacity in different research and clinical settings. One of the most important parameters to measure is the gait speed during a path of ten

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Gyroscope sensor data of shank motion during normal and barefoot walking

open access: yesData in Brief
In recent years, shank angular velocity (SAV) has emerged as a valuable tool for accurate temporal gait analysis and motion pattern assessment. To explore SAV among healthy subjects and its capability to distinguish differences between walking conditions,

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

The complete mitogenome dataset of the Critically Endangered estuarine pipefish, Syngnathus watermeyeri

open access: yesData in Brief
The Critically Endangered South African estuarine pipefish, Syngnathus watermeyeri, is one of the rarest teleost fish on the planet. In this analysed dataset, the complete mitochondrial genome of this species was assembled, annotated, and described.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
