Swallowing disorders: management data.

open access: yesActa otorhinolaryngologica Italica : organo ufficiale della Societa italiana di otorinolaringologia e chirurgia cervico-facciale, 2003
Aim of the investigation was to assess the workload and verify the results of oropharyngeal dysphagia management in a large state hospital by means of a descriptive, observational prospective study and descriptive statistical analysis. 81 patients [37 females, 44 males, mean age 61.3 (+/- 13) years] suffering from oropharyngeal dysphagia were evaluated

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Unveiling the complexity paradox: How does energy policy mix complexity shape low-carbon transitions?Orginal data and Codes

open access: yesEnergy Strategy Reviews
The design of energy policy mixes plays a critical role in low-carbon transitions. While an increasingly diverse and extensive array of policy mixes may enhance systemic transformation, it can also generate policy conflicts that undermine effectiveness ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Data Management and Data Management Plans

open access: yes, 2019
Presentation describing some of the methods I use for establishing good data collection practices. Includes information on data management plans, which are now required for most federal grant agencies. A well-documented data collection, management, processing, and cleaning plan implemented when data is being collected is an excellent foundation for ...

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Big Data: Changes in Data Management

open access: yesEkonomski Vjesnik, 2016
