The Interoperability Challenge in DFT Workflows Across Implementations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Interoperability and cross‐validation remain major challenges in the computational materials science. In this work, we introduce a common input/output standard that enables internal translation across multiple workflow managers—AiiDA, PerQueue, Pipeline Pilot, and SimStack—while producing results in a unified schema.

Capturing interactive data transformation operations using provenance workflows

open access: yes, 2012
The ready availability of data is leading to the increased opportunity of their re-use for new applications and for analyses. Most of these data are not necessarily in the format users want, are usually heterogeneous, and highly dynamic, and this ...

Autonomous AI‐Driven Design for Skin Product Formulations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review presents a comprehensive closed‐loop framework for autonomous skin product formulation design. By integrating artificial intelligence‐driven experiment selection with automated multi‐tiered assays, the approach shifts development from trial‐and‐error to intelligent optimisation.

Autonomous X‐Ray Fluorescence Mapping for Nanoscale Chemical Speciation of Fine Particulate Matter

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We present X‐AutoMap, an autonomous X‐ray fluorescence mapping framework that integrates real‐time analysis with rule‐based computer vision to selectively target chemically relevant regions. By avoiding background‐dominated areas, the method reduces acquisition time by fourfold while enabling accurate particle‐level speciation.

OntoLogX: Ontology‐Guided Knowledge Graph Extraction From Cybersecurity Logs With Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
OntoLogX is an autonomous AI agent that uses large language models to transform unstructured cyber security logs into ontology grounded knowledge graphs. By integrating retrieval augmented generation, iterative correction, and a light‐weight log ontology, OntoLogX produces semantically consistent intelligence that links raw log events to MITRE ATT & CK

Provenance-based Auditing of Private Data Use

open access: yes
Across the world, organizations are required to comply with regulatory frameworks dictating how to manage personal information. Despite these, several cases of data leaks and exposition of private data to unauthorized recipients have been publicly and ...

A Formal Model of Provenance in Distributed Systems

open access: yes, 2009
We present a formalism for provenance in distributed systems based on the π-calculus. Its main feature is that all data products are annotated with metadata representing their provenance.

Provenance Analysis: Towards Quality Provenance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Data provenance, a key piece of metadata that describes the lifecycle of a data product, is crucial in aiding scientists to better understand and facilitate reproducibility and reuse of scientific results.
