The Dataset Finder: A Tool Utilizing Data Management Plans as a Key to Data Discoverability

open access: yesData Science Journal
In the past years, there has been an increased interest in sharing and reusing research data. While the importance of sharing data is urgent for enabling collaboration, many research projects are currently struggling with setting up a strategy and the ...

Reconfigurable VLSI Architecture for Real-Time 2D-to-3D Conversion

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
2-D-to-3-D conversion is one way to make full use of 2-D contents to produce 3-D contents. Real-time 2-D-to-3-D conversion is required for 3-D consumer electronic devices, which demands fast processing speed especially for high-definition videos. In this

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

High-Performance Motion Estimation for Image Sensors with Video Compression

open access: yesSensors, 2015
It is important to reduce the time cost of video compression for image sensors in video sensor network. Motion estimation (ME) is the most time-consuming part in video compression.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Building a Dataset Search for Institutions: Project Update

open access: yesPublications, 2019
Most out-of-the-box institutional repository systems do not provide the workflows and metadata features required for research data. Consequently, many libraries now support two institutional repository systems—one for publications, and one for ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

A polytopic approach to democratising decision-making on health data reuse in the European Union

open access: yesData & Policy
In our digital world, reusing data to inform: decisions, advance science, and improve people’s lives should be easier than ever. However, the reuse of data remains limited, complex, and challenging. Some of this complexity requires rethinking consent and
