The MDS Queue: Analysing the Latency Performance of Erasure Codes
In order to scale economically, data centers are increasingly evolving their data storage methods from the use of simple data replication to the use of more powerful erasure codes, which provide the same level of reliability as replication but at a ...

DGD Gallery: Storage, sharing, and publication of digital research data [PDF]
We describe a project, called the "Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics Gallery", or DGD Gallery for short, whose goal is to store geometric data and to make it publicly available. The DGD Gallery offers an online web service for the storage, sharing,

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Data Storage in Solid Data Vaults
Extracting a subset or a derived set of data from a larger dataset requires a plan for how to do it efficiently. Creating a good plan, however, requires relevant beforehand knowledge about the data being processed. With traditional databases, sufficient information might be available and up-to-date, however with Linked Data that may not be the case ...

Mutually Uncorrelated Primers for DNA-Based Data Storage
We introduce the notion of weakly mutually uncorrelated (WMU) sequences, motivated by applications in DNA-based data storage systems and for synchronization of communication devices.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

HVSTO: Efficient Privacy Preserving Hybrid Storage in Cloud Data Center
In cloud data center, shared storage with good management is a main structure used for the storage of virtual machines (VM). In this paper, we proposed Hybrid VM storage (HVSTO), a privacy preserving shared storage system designed for the virtual machine

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
