Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

KUR’AN SÛRELERİNİN BÜTÜNLÜĞÜ VE TARİHLENDİRİLMESİ SORUNU ÜZERİNE BİR DEĞERLENDİRME

open access: yesİslami İlimler Dergisi
Kur’an’ın, belirli bir tarih aralığında vuku bulan birtakım hadiselerle ilişkili olarak şifâhî bir formda inzal edildiği bilinmektedir. Hz. Peygamber’in Kur’an’ın ilk muhataplarına canlı bir diyalog niteliğinde ilettiği vahiy bölümlerinin halifeler ...

Palaeoclimate changes in the Afyon province, Sw-Turkey, during the Middle-Late Pleistocene: Signals from calcareous tufa pollen and stable isotope records [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The calcareous tufas of Sarikavak located in the northern part of NE-SW trending Acigöl Graben in SW-Turkey are investigated in detail. For this aim, various analyses (stable isotopes, U/Th dating, palynology) have been carried out on samples obtained ...

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

TENDENCIES IN THE CONTENT CHANGE OF HEAVY METALS IN LAKE SEDIMENTS IN NORTHERN FENNOSCANDIA OVER THE LAST CENTURIES

open access: yesTransactions of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2015
To study trends in the heavy metal load on lake catchments in Northern Fennoscandia and their ecological status, lake sediment cores were collected in the border area between Russia, Norwayand Finlandwithin the impact zone of the "Pechenganikel" smelter ...

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Filogeografía del complejo Caesalpinia hintonii: (Leguminosae: Caesalpinioideae: Poincianella) Phylogeography of the Caesalpinia hintonii complex (Leguminosae: Caesalpinioideae: Poincianella)

Molecular Spectroscopy as an alternative for dating Textiles

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
Ancient linen textiles undergo with time a slow change reflected in their Infrared and Raman spectra. The recording of FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra, that reveals a disappearance of some bands and appearance of other ones during the centuries, enables a ...

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our
