ABSTRACT The powered roof supports in the longwall complex are placed and interconnected next to one another, typically about 125–250 units in a longwall face. It is an essential component in the longwall complex, which also includes a shearer (or plow) and an armored face conveyor.

Abstract Campylobacter is the most common bacterial cause of foodborne illness globally. Both symptomatic and asymptomatic infections with Campylobacter species have been associated with growth faltering of children in low‐resource settings, while previous prevalence studies primarily focused on diarrheal disease in children. Here, we leverage the data

This work establishes an MXene‐based S‐scheme heterojunction in which the cooperative interplay among metallic Ni, surface NiOx domains, and conductive Ti3C2Clx drives efficient charge separation and photothermal coupling. Progressive evolution of Ni surface states regulates the CH4/CH3OH product distribution by modulating interfacial energetics and ...

Modelling Instance-Level Annotator Reliability for Natural Language Labelling Tasks
When constructing models that learn from noisy labels produced by multiple annotators, it is important to accurately estimate the reliability of annotators.

Quantum Learning Theory Beyond Batch Binary Classification [PDF]
Arunachalam and de Wolf (2018) \cite{arunachalam2018optimal} showed that the sample complexity of quantum batch learning of boolean functions, in the realizable and agnostic settings, has the $\textit{same form and order}$ as the corresponding classical ...

T‐calibration in semi‐parametric models
AbstractThis article relates the calibration of models to the consistent loss functions for the target functional of the model. Correctly specified models are calibrated. Conversely, we demonstrate that if there is a parameter value that is optimal under all consistent loss functions, then a model is calibrated.

Coherent Disaggregation and Uncertainty Quantification for Spatially Misaligned Data
ABSTRACT Spatial misalignment arises when datasets are aggregated or collected at different spatial scales, leading to information loss. We develop a Bayesian disaggregation framework that links misaligned data to a continuous‐domain model through an iteratively linearised integration scheme implemented with the Integrated Nested Laplace Approximation (

Comparisons of Hyv\"arinen and pairwise estimators in two simple linear time series models [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to compare numerically the performance of two estimators based on Hyv\"arinen's local homogeneous scoring rule with that of the full and the pairwise maximum likelihood estimators. In particular, two different model settings, for
