Daylighting simulation: methods, algorithms, and resources [PDF]
This document presents work conducted as part of Subtask C, ''Daylighting Design Tools'', Subgroup C2, ''New Daylight Algorithms'', of the IEA SHC Task 21 and the ECBCS Program Annex 29 ''Daylight in Buildings''. The search for and collection of daylighting analysis methods and algorithms led to two important observations.

Daylighting Performance of Solar Control Films for Hospital Buildings in a Mediterranean Climate [PDF]
One of the main retrofitting strategies in warm climates is the reduction of the effects of solar radiation. Cooling loads, and in turn, cooling consumption, can be reduced through the implementation of reflective materials such as solar control films.

A dimensionality reduction method to select the most representative daylight illuminance distributions [PDF]
One challenge when evaluating daylight distribution is dealing with the large amount of temporal and spatial data, visualisations and variability in illuminances that are assessed in buildings.

Daylight simulations and tubular light guides
Indoor visual comfort is one of the leading requirements for building design. Results of computer daylight simulations serve to optimise the design process. Computer programs Ecotect and Radiance were used for the simulation of daylighting from tubular light guides of various diameters and lengths.
