ABSTRACT Background Pre‐service mathematics teachers frequently struggle with understanding the definitions and hierarchical classifications of quadrilaterals, often misidentifying inclusive relationships. These misconceptions hinder their ability to teach geometry effectively and reflect gaps in both content knowledge and pedagogical readiness.

This perspective surveys emerging quantum and classical photonic applications across operating wavelengths and timescales, highlighting persistent technological gaps in integrated light sources. We examine the unique advantages of quadratic nonlinear photonics on the thin‐film lithium niobate (TFLN) platform and discuss strategies for realizing ...

High Reflectivity Compounds of Cadmium Sulfide/Magnesium Fluoride Distribution Bragg Reflectors
This work investigates the optical performance of a distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs) structure, designed with a Matlab program using inorganic compounds of cadmium sulfide (CdS) and magnesium fluoride (MgF2 ) with a central operational wavelength of ...

Optically pumped DBR-free semiconductor disk lasers
We report high power distributed Bragg reflector (DBR)-free semiconductor disk lasers. With active regions lifted off and bonded to various transparent heatspreaders, the high thermal impedance and narrow bandwidth of DBRs are mitigated. For a strained InGaAs multi-quantum-well sample bonded to a single-crystalline chemical-vapor deposited diamond, a ...

The rare semi-leptonic $B_c$ decays involving orbitally excited final mesons
The rare processes $B_c\to D_{(s)J} ^{(*)}\mu\bar{\mu}$, where $D_{(s)J}^{(*)}$ stands for the final meson $D_{s0}^*(2317)$, $D_{s1}(2460,2536)$,~$D_{s2}^*(2573)$, $D_0^*(2400)$, $D_{1}(2420,2430)$ or~$D_{2}^*(2460)$, are studied within the Standard ...

Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Crigler‐Najjar Syndrome (CNS) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by uridine diphosphate glucuronosyltransferase (UGT1A1) deficiency, leading to unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia. Without treatment, patients are at high risk of kernicterus and irreversible neurological damage.
