KNN-DBSCAN: a DBSCAN in high dimensions
Clustering is a fundamental task in machine learning. One of the most successful and broadly used algorithms is DBSCAN, a density-based clustering algorithm. DBSCAN requires ϵ-nearest neighbor graphs of the input dataset, which are computed with range-search algorithms and spatial data structures like KD-trees.

Excitonic Landscapes in Monolayer Lateral Heterostructures Revealed by Unsupervised Machine Learning
Hyperspectral photoluminescence data from graded MoxW1 − xS2 alloys and monolayer MoS2–WS2 lateral heterostructures are analyzed using unsupervised machine learning. The combined use of PCA, t‐SNE, and DBSCAN uncovers distinct excitonic regions that trace how composition, strain, and defects modulate optical responses in these 2D materials.

Low‐affinity antibodies are frequently disregarded in discovery pipelines. This work reports P5‐1C8, a Class 1 SARS‐CoV‐2 antibody with weak trimer binding (KD‐to‐IC50 > 3700‐fold) yet potent neutralization of Omicron JN.1. Structural, biophysical, functional, and coarse‐grained simulations collectively demonstrate that transient inter‐spike IgG ...

VSCAN: An Enhanced Video Summarization using Density-based Spatial Clustering
In this paper, we present VSCAN, a novel approach for generating static video summaries. This approach is based on a modified DBSCAN clustering algorithm to summarize the video content utilizing both color and texture features of the video frames.
