A method has been suggested to accurately determine the DBTT of diffusion aluminide bond coats. Micro-tensile testing of free-standing coating samples has been carried out. The DBTT was determined based on the variation of plastic strain-to-fracture with temperature.

Determination of DBTT of functionally graded steels using Artificial Intelligence
2023This study applied three Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to project the ductile to the brittle transition temperature (DBTT) of functionally graded steels (FGS). These prediction models are Minimax Probability Machine Regression (MPMR) model, Genetic Programming (GP), and Emotional Neural Network (ENN) algorithms with strong prediction performance.

Modelling of the Charpy Impact Test in the DBTT Range
Materials Science Forum, 2005The finite element method was used in order to compute the energy balance and the stress-strain distribution in the Charpy V-notch specimen. Inertial effects were taken into account by a fully dynamic computation. It was shown that inertial oscillations are damped by viscoplasticity ahead the notch and vanish rapidly. 3D modelling is needed since large

Investigation of an Updated Continuum Damage Model in the DBTT Region
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010With the investigation of influence of the stress triaxiality on the fracture properties, an updated continuum damage model is proposed and realized by FEA to evaluate the temperature effect and the strain rate effect on the fracture properties in the ductile and brittle transition temperature (DBTT) region.

Determination of Ductile-Brittle Transition Temperature (DBTT) in Dynamic Small Punch Test
Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 1992Abstract A dynamic small punch test technique is demonstrated for measuring the ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) of aged Cr-Mo-V turbine rotor steels. Based on fracture energy measurements and fracture surface observations it is shown that the dynamic small punch test specimens exhibit a clear ductile-brittle transition ...
