Isothermal LCF behavior in aluminide diffusion coated René 80 near the DBTT

Materials & Design, 2009
Abstract Ni-base superalloys such as Rene 80 are widely used for aircraft turbine blades manufacture, due to possesses suitable mechanical, oxidation and hot corrosion properties. It is usually coated in order to increase its wear, oxidation, erosion and hot corrosion properties against environmental degradation.

Evaluation of DBTT and Creep Properties of Aged Main Valve Casing by Using Small Punch Specimens

Key Engineering Materials, 2005
Both the change in DBTT and the degradation of creep properties of the aged CrMoV cast steel which had been actually used as a main steam valve were evaluated from the conventional SP test and the SP creep (SP-C) test using by SP test specimens. The CVN DBTTs of the virgin and aged steels were estimated to be 280 and 369 K by the conventional SP test ...

Progress in developing DBTT determinations from miniature disk bend tests

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1986
Experiments to investigate the possibility of obtaining ductile-to-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) data using bend tests of 3 mm diameter disks are described. A disk specimen 0.40 mm thick with two V-shaped grooves, 0.10 mm deep at right angles to each other along diameters of the disk face, is found to be suitable.

Variations in DBTT and CTOD within weld heat-affected zone of API X65 pipeline steel

Materials Science & Engineering A: Structural Materials: Properties, Microstructure and Processing, 2012
Abstract The fracture resistance of heat-affected zones (HAZs) in girth welded joint of API X65 steel pipeline was systematically investigated. While the change in Charpy impact energy has been typically evaluated in previous studies, here the variations in ductile-to-brittle temperature (DBTT) and crack-tip opening displacement (CTOD) within HAZ ...

Determination of the DBTT of nanoscale ZrC doped W alloys through amplitude-dependent internal friction technique

Materials Science & Engineering A: Structural Materials: Properties, Microstructure and Processing, 2018
Abstract In this paper, 1 mm thick W-0.5 wt%ZrC alloy plates were prepared by mechanical milling, hot pressing sintering and multistep hot and cold rolling. A newly developed testing technique based on the amplitude-dependent internal friction (ADIF) was used to determine the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) of this W-0.5 wt%ZrC alloy.

Determination of the minimum quantity of irradiated ferritic steel specimens for small punch DBTT testing

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1991
Abstract The small punch (SP) test technique using TEM disk miniaturized specimens has been developed to evaluate the ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) for irradiated ferritic structural steels. The SP tests were performed for F-82 (8Cr-2W-V), F-82H with Ta and HT-9 (12Cr-lMo-V-W) ferritic steels under consideration for demonstrating a ...

Reduction method of DBTT shift due to irradiation for reduced-activation ferritic/martensitic steels

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2010
Abstract The method for reducing irradiation-induced DBTT shift of reduced-activation ferritic/martensitic steels was examined. F82H-LN (low nitrogen, 20 ppm), F82H+60 ppm11B+200 ppmN and F82H+60 ppm10B+200 ppmN steels tempered at 780 °C for 0.5 h were irradiated at 250 °C to 2 dpa, and the results for Charpy impact tests were analyzed.

Indentation-energy-to-fracture (IEF) parameter for characterization of DBTT in carbon steels using nondestructive automated ball indentation (ABI) technique

Scripta Materialia, 1998
Integrity of structures in various technologies depend on the fracture behaviors of materials, and in general the fracture characteristics of s tructural m aterials are evaluated using destructive tests, such as Charpy, fracture toughness, and other such techniques.
