Capacitorless DC-DC converter

Proceedings of the 2014 IEEE Emerging Technology and Factory Automation (ETFA), 2014
Linear-assisted DC/DC converters (or linear-switching hybrid DC/DC converters) consist of a voltage linear regulator (classic NPN or nMOS topologies and LDO) connected in parallel with a switching DC/DC converter. In order to control these hybrid structures, different strategies exist, allowing to fix the switching frequency as a function of some ...

An educational tool for DC-DC converter

2011 10th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2011
In this study, an educational tool has been prepared for a shorter term and more economic education of power electronics circuits. Virtual instruments and distributed systems are of great interest to create advanced and flexible teaching and experimentation environments for measurement technologies at limited costs.

Chaotic control of a DC-DC-converter

2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Emerging Technologies for the 21st Century. Proceedings (IEEE Cat No.00CH36353), 2002
Recent publications on DC-DC converters have pointed out that a chaotic operation mode may be of advantage for EMC reasons. This paper proposes a boost-converter scheme the switching operation of which is controlled by a chaotic return map. A spectral analysis of the converter's input current demonstrates how the shape of the return map affects the ...

On the reliability of DC-DC power converters

Collection of Technical Papers. 35th Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference and Exhibit (IECEC) (Cat. No.00CH37022), 2000
This paper presents the results obtained from a study conducted to evaluate the long-term operational reliability of DC-DC power converters used in computer applications. A full-bridge, phase-shifted zero voltage switching (ZVS) PWM converter was investigated experimentally and theoretically.

DC-DC Buck Converter for Supercapacitor

2019 International Conference on Electronics, Information, and Communication (ICEIC), 2019
In this paper, a DCM DC-DC buck converter for charging supercapacitor is proposed. The buck converter consists of compensator for gain and frequency compensation, pulsewidth modulation(PWM) control logic for switch control, clock generator, and soft start-up to reduce the inrush current of an inductor during the initial operation of the converter.
