Saturable reactor assisted soft-switching full-bridge DC-DC power convertors

open access: closedIEE Proceedings B Electric Power Applications, 1991
A new soft-switching converter technique is introduced which employs small saturable reactors and phase-shift modulation. This considerably reduces switching losses with no substantial increase in conduction losses. The proposed soft-switching concept and its modifications to full-bridge DC-DC power convertors are shown and discussed.

Class E2 resonant DC/DC power convertor

open access: closedIEE Proceedings G Circuits, Devices and Systems, 1990
A new high-frequency high-efficiency resonant DC/DC convertor is introduced. It is composed of a Class E inverter and a Class E rectifier. The convertor operates with load resistances ranging from a full load to infinity. It can regulate the output voltage by varying the switching frequency over a narrow range, owing to a high value of the loaded ...

High power IGBT-based DC/DC converter with DC fault tolerance

2012 15th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (EPE/PEMC), 2012
This paper studies a DC/DC converter based on IGBT-bridges which is suitable for connection to HVDC (High Voltage DC) and for building high power DC grids. The DC faults are of highest concern for DC grids, and the primary converter design aims are to achieve inherent current regulation under DC faults in addition to minimizing converter losses. Design

Discussions on control loop design in average current mode control [PWM DC/DC power convertors]

Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2002
Large control output ripple in ACMC (average current mode control) PWM DC/DC converters exposes challenges in accurate modeling and design. In this paper, superposition models are utilized to perform control design analysis for ACMC PWM DC/DC converters.

Power conditioning system for solar power applications: Closed loop DC-DC convertor fed FPGA controlled diode clamped multilevel inverter

2012 IEEE Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science, 2012
The main objective of this paper is to develop a power conditioning system, which can be used to extract the variable solar DC power from sun and convert it into AC power to feed a 3-phase AC load effectively. This paper presented the simulation results of Photovoltaic (PV) power conditioning system for three phase AC loads. The conditioner consists of
