DC Bias Study for DC-DC Dual-Active-Bridge Converter

2018 IEEE 4th Southern Power Electronics Conference (SPEC), 2018
For the dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter, the adoption of high-frequency transformer provides galvanic isolation, but also brings the possibility of dc bias. In this paper, the calculation methods for dc bias are derived in details. Hence, the dc bias magnetizing current can be predicted considering the inconsistency of semiconductor switches and ...

Impedance of DC-bias-controlled composite FBARs

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, 2013
A closed-form analytic formula is derived for composite resonators consisting of two layers of paraelectricphase ferroelectrics. It is used to analyze the properties of these resonators. Under an applied dc electric field, the layers exhibit an induced piezoelectric effect.

A simple DC bias elimination technique for Dual-Active-Bridge DC/DC converters

2019 10th International Conference on Power Electronics and ECCE Asia (ICPE 2019 - ECCE Asia), 2019
A new and simple DC bias elimination technique for a Dual-Active-Bridge DC/DC converter is proposed in this paper. The principle is to make the positive and negative volt-seconds of the magnetizing inductance balance when the phase shift changes. This can be done with minimum disruption on the overall control system by some minor modifications on the ...

dc Bias-Sputtered Aluminum Films

Journal of Vacuum Science and Technology, 1973
Low resistivity aluminum films have been deposited by dc bias sputtering without excessive presputtering. Minimum resistivity occurs for a bias (VB) of approximately −40 V and, in contrast to the case for sputtered molybdenum, the resistivity increases for higher negative biases.

Advanced DC Bias Suppression Strategy based on Finite DC Blocking Devices

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2017
The ground return current of a high voltage direct current system will intrude the transformers adjacent to the grounding electrode in the case of monopole operation, leading to the half-cycle saturation of transformers. To mitigate the adverse effect, placing dc blocking devices (BDs) in transformer neutrals is popularly advocated.

Research on DC Bias Due to Magnetic Storm and DC Transmission

2005 IEEE/PES Transmission & Distribution Conference & Exposition: Asia and Pacific, 2005
This paper focuses on the research on the DC bias due to magnetic storm and HVDC. In the paper, we introduce the DC bias problem of Jiangsu Yang-Huai transmit electric system and Southern Power Grids, discuss the harmful effect of the transformer DC bias and the significance of research, and analyze the compensation, weakening and elimination of ...

A new auto-bias method for digital control dc-dc converter

2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2011
Main content of this paper is a new auto-bias method for digital control dc-dc converter. In the proposed method, not only the P-I-D control as the feedback one but also the new auto-bias method as the feedforward one is used. The new auto-bias method consists of two superior functions.

DC bias suppression in diffraction patterns

Optics Communications, 1972
Abstract A Smith polarization interferometer is used for the suppression of the influence of the dc bias light level in optical diffraction patterns. Its application results in an improved detectability of low-frequency diffraction orders.

A Method for Detecting DC Bias in Transformer of Dual Active Bridge DC-DC Converter

2021 IEEE 12th Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition - Asia (ECCE-Asia), 2021
A potential concern with the isolation transformer in a dual active bridge DC-DC converter (DAB) unit is the DC bias of magnetization. With the influence of DC bias, the loss of the transformer increases, and the lifespan decreases. However, it is difficult to accurately measure the small DC component mixed in a large (>10A peak), high-frequency AC ...

A simple apparatus for DC bias sputtering

Vacuum, 1970
This paper describes a system for the deposition by sputtering of thin tantalum films of fairly high purity, which was easily and cheaply constructed. It would be equally suitable for sputtering films of other refractory metals. The films produced have superconducting transition temperatures in the range 3.4°K to 3.8°K, and the ratio of the resistance ...
