On the Estimation of Carrier Frequency Offset and DC Offset for OFDM Systems
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2008In an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver with direct-conversion architecture, carrier frequency offset (CFO) and direct-current offset (DCO), which cause severe performance degradation, need to be estimated and compensated. Recently, by investigating the subspace of OFDM signal after coarse DCO cancellation using timedomain ...

Low complexity frequency offset estimation in the presence of DC offset
IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2003. ICC '03., 2004This paper describes how to perform low complexity frequency offset estimation in the presence of direct current (DC) offset based on a received periodic preamble. By designing a suitable preamble, we perform frequency and DC offsets estimation concurrently, followed by a simple compensator which reduces the frequency offset error induced by the ...

Manual or automatic nulling DC offset for physiological DC amplifier
Medical Engineering & Physics, 1994An inexpensive circuit to compensate for DC offset is presented. The circuit may be connected in a straightforward manner to any currently existing DC isolation amplifier and causes no deterioration in the performance of the system. The offset voltage is measured at discrete time intervals and then subtracted from the input signal. A switch is provided

A Low-Complexity Carrier Frequency Offset Estimator Independent of DC Offset
IEEE Communications Letters, 2008The purpose of this letter is to propose a novel carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimator in the presence of DC offset (DCO), based on the pilot's periodicity. The new CFO estimator can achieve satisfactory performance at low complexity, irrespective of the DCO presence.

Blind OFDM carrier frequency offset estimation in the presence of DC Offset
2011 IEEE 7th International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing, Networking and Communications (WiMob), 2011The estimation of carrier frequency offset (CFO) and DC offset is a crucial issue in an OFDM direct-conversion receiver. Recently, a blind CFO estimator based on the correlation of the received OFDM samples has been proposed. In this paper, this symbol-wise CFO estimator is extended to consider the presence of DC offset.

Blind Estimation of Carrier Frequency Offset and DC Offset for OFDM Systems
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2008In this letter, a blind joint carrier frequency offset and DC offset (DCO) estimator for OFDM systems is proposed. By exploiting the underlying subspace of the received OFDM signals after the time-domain-average based coarse DCO cancellation, the proposed estimator can achieve excellent performance, which is demonstrated by simulations.

A Novel DC-offset Cancelling Circuit for DCR
2005 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2005The paper describes a novel DC-offset canceling structure for a direct-conversion receiver (DCR). The proposed structure uses an I/Q tuning loop to remove DC-offset. The I/Q mismatch issue is discussed and, accordingly, a solution to suppress I/Q mismatch effects is adopted.

A modified packet detector coping with a DC offset
2012 International Conference on ICT Convergence (ICTC), 2012The Schmidl and Cox (SC) packet detector uses the ratio of the power of a received packet and the power of its own packet delayed by the periodicity of preamble. If the ratio exceeds a ratio threshold (T) with a non-zero value less than one, the SC packet detector declares that a packet is detected.

Subspace-based OFDM Carrier Frequency Offset Estimation in the Presence of DC Offset
2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007In an OFDM receiver with direct-conversion architecture, DC offset (DCO) and carrier frequency offset (CFO) cause a severe performance degradation. Recently, by investigating the subspace of OFDM signal after removing the coarse DCO estimate obtained via a time-domain average, we have proposed a null space based estimator (NSE), for blind CFO and DCO ...
