A transformer-Less DC-DC converter with large voltage transformation ratio for medium-voltage DC grid applications

2013 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting, 2013
This paper presents a transformer-less dc-dc converter with large voltage gain for medium voltage dc grid applications. The converter is based on a combination of boost converter and a series-parallel resonant circuit with capacitive output filter. Soft-switching of the power switches and diodes are naturally achieved due to the resonant operation. The

An asymmetric VHF self-oscillating DC-DC converter with integrated transformer

2015 IEEE 58th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2015
The paper presents a self-oscillating DC-DC integrated converter which is operable in the frequency range of 200MHz–260MHz. The circuit includes a cascoded power stage, and an integrated transformer. The primary of the transformer provides the transmission of power to the converter load.

A Resonant DC-DC transformer with Zero Current Ripple

IEEE 36th Conference on Power Electronics Specialists, 2005., 2006
The paper presents a resonant converter topology capable of providing zero ripple conditions (ZRC) at either its input or output current. The basic properties of the proposed topology are discussed in detail. The remarkable symmetry and the proportional voltages of the circuit allow it to maintain ripple-less current independent of the load or ...

Transformer-less DIDO DC-DC converter for EV's

2016 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics, and Optimization Techniques (ICEEOT), 2016
A transformer-less dual input dual output (DIDO) dc converter is proposed in this paper. This converter finds its application in fields of hybrid power system and hybridization of energy sources for electric vehicles. Supply of the output loads, charging and discharging of the battery / energy storage system can be made from the fuel cells (FC) or ...

Computer-aided analysis of electronic DC-DC transformers

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1988
An approach to the analysis of electronic DC-to-DC transformers using the SPICE simulation program as an aid is presented. In this approach, the minimum separable switching configuration (MISSCO) of a DC-to-DC transformer is first identified and its equivalent circuit determined before analysis and simulation are carried out on the complete converter ...

Efficiency improvement of piezoelectric-transformer DC-DC converter

PESC 98 Record. 29th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference (Cat. No.98CH36196), 2002
Piezoelectric-transformers (PT) have a lot of merits in comparison with magnetic transformers. We have previously presented some types of piezoelectric-transformer DC-DC converters (PT-converters) for AC-adapters, but their efficiency was restricted. The maximum efficiency was less than 80%.

A Family of Zero-Voltage-Switching DC-DC Transformers

Twenty-First Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2006. APEC '06., 2006
A family of zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) dc-dc transformers is proposed in the paper. Utilizing the magnetizing current, all switches can realize ZVS independent of input voltage and load. A ZVS push-pull forward dc-dc transformer is used to illustrate the concept. The switches' ZVS condition is theoretically analyzed.

Developing DC Transmission Networks Using DC Transformers

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2010
This paper studies principles of developing dc transmission grids based on high power dc/dc converters. There has been much research on dc/dc converters and it is likely that some megawatt size units will achieve commercialisation stage soon. In this study, we assume that electronic dc transformers can achieve three functions: 1) voltage stepping, 2 ...
