The pivotal role of mass spectrometry in transition metal‐based photocatalyst research for solar‐driven energy conversion and water purification advancements

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, Volume 46, Issue 4, Page 381-412, April 2025.
This review explores recent advancements in the integration of solar energy conversion and water remediation with mass spectrometry as an analytical technique. We examine Ti‐based photocatalysts for their roles in energy conversion and water purification, utilizing mass spectrometric analysis to evaluate the efficiency of these mechanisms.

Bacterial volatile organic compounds supplemented with light‐emitting diode lighting enhance antioxidant capacity and delay senescence in broccoli

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 6, Issue 1, Page 448-464, January 2025.
Bacterial volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) are biological volatiles that can have a positive effect on the postharvest preservation of fruits and vegetables. In the present study, fumigation of broccoli with BVOCs released by Lysinibacillus fusiformis supplemented with LED white light irradiation reduced the accumulation of reactive oxygen species ...

Deep‐Focus Earthquake Mechanisms at the Subducting Nazca Plate (Peru‐Brazil Border): Cold Slab Behavior in a Warm Plate

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 11, Issue 10, October 2024.
Abstract We calculate focal mechanisms and centroid depths for deep‐focus earthquakes (DFEs) along the Peru‐Brazil border. We obtained a total of 28 focal solutions for events with magnitudes between 4.2 and 7.5 Mw and occurring between 2014 and 2022.

Mitochondrial DNA replication is essential for neurogenesis but not gliogenesis in fetal neural stem cells

open access: yesDevelopment, Growth &Differentiation, Volume 66, Issue 8, Page 398-413, October 2024.
We show that neural stem cells (NSCs) dramatically increase their mtDNA content during differentiation. Short‐term inhibition of mtDNA replication and subsequent reduction of mtDNA content led to specific reduction in neurogenesis, whereas gliogenesis was not affected. These effects were associated with neither alterations in energy content nor changes

The Sins of the Fathers: Targeted Sanctions against Family Members of Primary Targets

open access: yesThe Modern Law Review, Volume 87, Issue 4, Page 926-966, July 2024.
Targeted sanctions, such as asset freezes and travel bans, are an increasingly popular response to a wide array of wrongdoing. This article considers an especially problematic aspect of contemporary sanctions law and practice that has received little attention so far, namely the imposition of sanctions on the family members of the primary target.

Ink‐Extrusion 3D Printing and Silicide Coating of HfNbTaTiZr Refractory High‐Entropy Alloy for Extreme Temperature Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 17, May 8, 2024.
This work demonstrates that an oxygen‐sensitive refractory high‐entropy alloy (RHEA) can achieve architecture freedom and good oxidation resistance by a series of simple processing steps: i) 3D ink‐extrusion printing, ii) interdiffusion‐sintering, and iii) silicide coating.

Unwinding NFTs in the shadow of IP law

open access: yesAmerican Business Law Journal, Volume 61, Issue 1, Page 31-55, Spring 2024.
Abstract Amid the surge of intellectual property (IP) disputes surrounding non‐fungible tokens (NFTs), some scholars have advocated for the application of personal property or sales law to regulate NFT minting and transactions, contending that IP laws unduly hinder the development of the NFT market. This Article counters these proposals and argues that
