Deadbeat Controllability for Structured Linear Systems

Abstract In this note we study linear structured discrete time systems. We assume that we know which entries in the system matrices are nonzero. We refer to these entries as free parameters. We say that the system is generically deadbeat controllable if it is deadbeat controllable for almost all possible free parameters values.

A unitary method for deadbeat control

In this paper we give a numerical method to perform deadbeat control on a multi input system. The method constructs, in a recursive manner, a unitary state-space transformation yielding a coordinate system in which the feedback matrix is computed by merely solving a set of linear equations.
