Effects of arginine-8-vasopressin and 1-deamino-8-D-arginine-vasopressin on ACTH secretion in rats. [PDF]

open access: possibleEndocrinologia experimentalis, 1983
The corticotropin-releasing effect of arginine-8-vasopressin (AVP) has been compared to that of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine-vasopressin (dDAVP) in male rats of R-Amsterdam strain. AVP increased the level of ACTH and corticosterone in the peripheral blood in a dose-dependent manner.

Intranasal Deamino-8-D-Arginine Vasopressin Shortens the Bleeding Time in Uremia

American Journal of Nephrology, 2008
Clinical bleeding in uremia is a frequent problem and seems to correlate with a prolonged bleeding time. The vasopressin analog deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin has been shown to shorten the bleeding time and to decrease clinical bleeding when administered intravenously to uremic patients.

Effects of lysine-vasopressin and 1-deamino-8-d-arginine-vasopressin on memory in healthy individuals and diabetes insipidus patients [PDF]

open access: possiblePsychoneuroendocrinology, 1982
Central diabetes insipidus (DI) patients showed impairments in short- and long-term memory functions, but not in attention and concentration, as compared to healthy individuals. A single i.m. injection or sub-chronic intranasal administration of either lysine-vasopressin (LVP) or 1-deamino-8-D-arginine-vasopressin (DDAVP) normalized the disturbed ...

[Vasopressin receptors: structure and stimulation by 1-deamino-arginine-vasotocin in rats].

Rossiiskii fiziologicheskii zhurnal imeni I.M. Sechenova, 2007
In experiments on non-anesthetized female Wistar rats, it has been shown that injection of 1-deamino-arginine-vasotocin (1dAVT) increases sodium excretion and solute-free water reabsorption. Antagonists of V1-receptors (OPC-31260, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Japan) eliminates the effect water reabsorption whereas antagonist of V1-receptors (OPC ...

1-Deamino-8-D-Arginine Vasopressin Lowers Protein C Activity in Uremics

Nephron, 2008
The effect of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) on protein C was investigated in 10 uremics and 10 normal subjects. The protein C antigen was higher in the uremic patients than in the normal subjects. DDAVP had no influence on the level of protein C antigen.

BIOLOGICAL HALF-LIFE AND ORGAN DISTRIBUTION OF [3H]1-DEAMINO-8-d-ARGININE-VASOPRESSIN IN THE RAT [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Endocrinology, 1981
The biological half-life of synthetic, radiochemically pure, biologically active [3H]1-deamino-8-d-arginine-vasopressin (dDAVP) in rats was found to be 5·33 ± 0·28 (s.e.m.) min in the initial, transitional, fast phase and 56·28 ± 3·27 min in the second, slow phase.

1-Deamino-8-D-Arginine Vasopressin as a Therapy for the Bleeding Diathesis of Renal Failure

American Journal of Nephrology, 2008
The treatment of the bleeding diathesis of renal failure remains unsatisfactory. 1-Deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) has recently been shown to shorten the prolonged bleeding time of renal failure and may as a result diminish the risk of clinical hemorrhage. We describe 2 cases where DDAVP was used successfully in the management of hemorrhage in

1-Deamino-8-d-arginine vasopressin in the treatment of central diabetes insipidus in childhood

The Journal of Pediatrics, 1978
The effectiveness of therapy with carbamazepine and clofibrate (oral therapy), intramuscular pitressin-in-oil, and intranasal 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin has been compared in 15 children with partial or complete central diabetes insipidus.

Response to 1-Deamino-8-D-Arginine Vasopressin in von Willebrand Disease

Haemostasis, 2009
The synthetic agent, l-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP), is generally regarded to be the treatment of choice for persons with type I von Willebrand disease (vWD), and may be useful in type IIA vWD as well. Several formulations of the drug are available, including a highly concentrated intranasal spray formulation which is ideal for home use ...
