Effect of two-week infusion of deamino D-arginine vasopressin in rats.

Hormone research, 1987
Our purpose was to investigate a method of prolonged desmopressin (DDAVP) infusion in a free roaming rat to better understand the SIADH (syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion) syndrome in man. DDAVP was infused for 2 weeks from implanted self-powered osmotic minipumps.

Treatment of diabetes insipidus with 1-deamino-8-d-arginine vasopressin.

Acta medica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae, 1976
The effect on water metabolism of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin and lysine vasopressin have been studied and compared in 20 vasopressin-sensitive and 2 ADH-resistant diabetes insipidus patients. In every case of ADH-sensitive diabetes insipidus, diuresis decreased and the urinary osmolality increased more markedly and for a longer time with the ...

Synthesis of a biologically active analog of deamino-8-arginine-vasopressin which does not contain a disulphide bond

Experientia, 1969

Absorption of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin from different regions of the gastrointestinal tract in rabbits

Acta Endocrinologica, 1986
Abstract. By using a specific radioimmunoassay for 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP), plasma concentrations were measured in rabbit plasma at various times after intra-gastrointestinal injections. Five anatomically distinct regions were employed to administer the peptide, namely: the stomach, the duodenum, the mid-part of the ileum, the ileo ...

Effect of 1-Deamino-8-D-Arginine Vasopressin on the Prolonged Bleeding Time in Chronic Renal Failure

Nephron, 1982
The prolonged bleeding times of 12 patients with chronic renal failure were significantly shortened at 1 and 2 h after an infusion of 0.4 microgram/kg 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP). In 5 of these patients, the bleeding times 24 h after infusion had returned to approximate baseline values, suggesting that the effect of DDAVP is a temporary ...

The antidiuretic action of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) in man.

International journal of clinical pharmacology and biopharmacy, 1976
1. After administration of a new vasopressin analogue (DDAVP), a marked and prolonged antidiuresis occurred in 10 patients with pituitary diabetes insipidus. 2. The antidiuretic effects of single intravenous doses of 0.04--24 mug DDAVP and single intranasal doses of 5--320 mug DDAVP were investigated. Time curves of the antidiuretic responses expressed

Intranasal deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin shortens the bleeding time in uremia.

American journal of nephrology, 1984
Clinical bleeding in uremia is a frequent problem and seems to correlate with a prolonged bleeding time. The vasopressin analog deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin has been shown to shorten the bleeding time and to decrease clinical bleeding when administered intravenously to uremic patients.

Effect of 1-deamino-5-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) on plasma cortisol (hydrocortisone).

Journal of clinical pharmacology, 1976
The influence of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP), the new antidiutetic polypeptide without any side effects on plasma cortisol, was investigated in 30 healthy persons. A dose of 4 mug DDAVP administered intravenously induced a rise in plasma cortisol (hydrocortisone) levels greater than 3.5 mug/100 ml in 12 out of 20 persons studied. In this
