Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1988
WITH the advent of ever more exacting tolerances, both in terms of component size and fatigue resistance, quality emphasis has moved from production to finishing. In addition, with the introduction of more efficient sheet metal cutting processes such as CNC routing, bottlenecks have been highlighted in the deburring process.

Modelling of the Deburring Process
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2006Due to robotic deburring development, the research gains a new orientation and focused on the cutting forces and the chip control. The present paper will emphasize the main difference which occurs between the normal cutting process and the deburring process, the way it develops and the parameters which characterize this process.

As industry continues to recognise the true costs of component deburring there is increasing interest in all forms of mechanised deburring. This paper briefly considers ECM as a specialised process for use when more conventional methods are not suitable.
