Complex degradation processes lead to non-exponential decay patterns and age-dependent decay rates of messenger RNA. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Experimental studies on mRNA stability have established several, qualitatively distinct decay patterns for the amount of mRNA within the living cell.

Charmless Three-Body Baryonic B Decays

open access: yes, 2002
Motivated by recent data on B-> p pbar K decay, we study various charmless three-body baryonic B decay modes, including Lambda pbar pi, Sigma0 pbar pi, p pbar pi, p pbar Kbar0, in a factorization approach. These modes have rates of order 10^{-6}.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Release and Degradation of Environmental DNA and RNA From Eels in Aotearoa New Zealand

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA
Environmental DNA (eDNA) has become a crucial tool for detecting rare species and monitoring biodiversity. However, the prolonged persistence of eDNA in water complicates the precise determination of an organism's location based on an eDNA signal alone ...

Well-posedness and asymptotic stability for the Lamé system with internal distributed delay [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Moravica, 2018
In this work, we consider the Lamé system in 3-dimension bounded domain with distributed delay term. We prove, under some appropriate assumptions, that this system is well-posed and stable.

Total decay and transition rates from LQCD

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
We present a new technique for extracting total transition rates into final states with any number of hadrons from lattice QCD. The method involves constructing a finite-volume Euclidean four-point function whose corresponding infinite-volume spectral ...

Optimal Decay Rates for Kirchhoff Plates with Intermediate Damping

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2020
In this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of Kirchhoff plates with intermediate damping. The damping considered contemplates the frictional and the Kelvin-Voigt type dampings. We show that the semigroup those equations decays polynomially in time at

Environmental DNA shedding and decay rates from diverse animal forms and thermal regimes

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, 2021
Environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis from water samples is a promising new method to identify both targeted species and whole communities of aquatic organisms.

Decay Rates and Survival Probabilities in Open Quantum Systems

open access: yes, 2002
We provide the first statistical analysis of the decay rates of strongly driven 3D atomic Rydberg states. The distribution of the rates exhibits universal features due to Anderson localization, while universality of the time dependent decay requires ...

Phenomenological Study of Strong Decays of Heavy Hadrons in Heavy Quark Effective Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The application of the tensor formalism of the heavy quark effective theory (HQET) at leading order to strong decays of heavy hadrons is presented. Comparisons between experimental and theoretical predictions of ratios of decay rates for B mesons, D ...
