Environmental Drivers of Geographic Isolation in Three Pika Species in Northeast Asia
Using bias‐corrected species distribution models, we found that geographic isolation among three northeastern Asian pika species (Ochotona coreana, Ochotona mantchurica, and Ochotona hyperborea) reflects both divergent environmental preferences and potential competitive interactions. O.

Metagenomic sequencing was used to analyze fecal microbiota of captive male forest musk deer (FMD) from the Sichuan Institute of Musk Deer Breeding across ages and musk‐secreting periods. Gut microbiota was generally stable and dominated by Firmicutes, while age and musk secretion shaped microbial composition and function, with musk collection linked ...

Gut Microbiome Functional Reprogramming Reflects Divergent Social Strategies in a Wild Primate
Wild golden snub‐nosed monkeys employ divergent social strategies, forming reproductive one‐male units and bachelor all‐male units. We reveal that these social structures, intertwined with seasonal diets, drive distinct functional reprogramming in their gut microbiomes. This adaptive microbial plasticity plays a crucial role in primate socio‐ecological

First multi‐season analysis linking cumulative duration and habitat selection to human modification in two declining shorebirds. A total of 160 cumulative duration was identified at four periods for two species. Longer cumulative duration correlate with higher human modification in coastal wetlands during northward migration and winter.

We developed LeoNet, a lightweight deep learning model for leopard individual identification. It achieved 97.42% accuracy and was robust to age‐related pattern changes and unfamiliar individuals. Applied to camera‐trap data from the Taihang Mountains, LeoNet identified 41 wild North China leopards and generated individual‐level records to support ...

Cold exposure triggers enhanced huddling responses in golden snub‐nosed monkeys, characterized by increased huddling frequency, duration, and larger group formation. Huddling effectively improves thermal regulation by elevating body surface temperature and reducing heat loss, with individuals inside aggregations achieving greater thermal benefits than ...

Abstract Tropical dry ecosystems (TDEs) cover half of the tropics and play a key role in global carbon dynamics. TDEs present distinct canopy and ground layers that often exhibit contrasting phenological patterns. On‐the‐ground observations of phenology by the human eye, though valuable, may suffer from limited temporal resolution and observer biases ...

TreeSegAgent: Agentic tree instance segmentation via a multi‐anchor pipeline
Abstract Individual‐tree segmentation from three‐dimensional forest point clouds underpins forest inventory, biomass estimation and ecosystem monitoring, but remains challenging in structurally complex stands, where vertical heterogeneity and point‐density degradation weaken the robustness of centre‐offset‐based instance grouping.

Seasonal Habitat Selection by a Threatened Ungulate in an Industrializing Boreal Landscape
Understanding habitat selection by Threatened wood bison in landscapes characterized by anthropogenic disturbance is important for conservation planning. During summer and winter, bison selected for linear (e.g., roads, seismic lines, pipelines) and polygonal (e.g., well sites) disturbances, unless there were high densities of linear features.
